With the emergence of VR, 360 degree video and images have become a popular form of media across the web. Facebook allows users to embed these images directly simply by uploading them. But how do you post a 360 image on your website or blog? 360player.io is a great resource for developers that accomplishes just that. Simply sign up for a free account, upload your 360 image/video in the proper format ( equirectangular 2:1, also for many players metadata for the associated image may be required). On Facebook you simply upload the image as you would any other image and as long as the metadata and format are correct, it is automatically converted to 360.

If you are wondering how you can capture these 360 degree images, there are different ways to accomplish this. You can capture real 360 pictures with the Android app Google Cardboard and Cardboard Camera available in the Play store. If you are interested in capturing a 360 shot of your project, 3d model(s) or game, there is a bit more to it. (Contact me for more info).

A tank top for your hard working slaves. Now if your slaves wander too far, your neighbor will know to blow their head off and send ’em on back home.

Support this skin by visiting Steam and voting “Yes” and adding it to your favorites it:

Get it on Steam!

“Slaves”, also known as “Workers” in Rust are players that do utilitarian work, such as gathering wood and stone. Using slaves in Rust enables clans to build large bases fast. The concept is simple really, generally it involves finding some players with little experience who are interested in joining up with your team/clan, or just trying to get a decent start in the game without getting killed so easily. Depending on who you slave for you can generally rank up to a normal clan member eventually after hours of hard slaving!

If you play Rust and are interested in working as a slave to help build some of Rusts largest and most badass monuments and buildings, add me on Steam and I’ll give you the details, such as our current server and such. If you are a dedicated and hard worker we will even pay you in skins (which are worth actual money)!

It’s not always bad to be a slave in Rust, but watch this hilarious video by faceless as they wrangle some fresh slaves for trade on the market XD

Some tips for fellow slave masters:
-Don’t ever let your slaves into the treasury until after so many hours, about 10% of the volunteer slaves are actually trolls looking to reck your base! (true fact)
-Don’t give your slaves guns, it makes it too easy for them to kill you and take yours, slaves should be equipped with hatchets and pick axes and if you are a kind slave master, a “Slave Tank Top”.
-Don’t kill your slaves and laugh at them. While this may be entertaining to you, I find that usually your slaves will get bored of this behavior and eventually move on.

If you have any ideas for future skins/mods, hit me up on Steam, or by email, or leave a comment below!

Die Antwoord Font

love drug truetype font

After I watched the music video for “Love Drug” (below nsfw!) I was inspired by Ninja and Yolandi’s handwriting to create a font in homage to Die Antwoord. I left a comment about the idea on YT, and from the likes and comments I received it’s apparent that the world needed this! If you haven’t heard, according to many sources the duo announced that they will be releasing one last album later this year and then calling it quits, but hopefully the Love Drug font shall live on in art and design for years to come!

What I ended up with is a pretty unique font, free for anyone for personal use so feel free to download it, use it to create graphics, fan art, or even set your browser to display text in “Love Drug” font and read it everywhere! If you are wondering if the Yolandi and Ninja smiley’s are part of the font, the answer is yes! Yolandi is the @ symbol and Ninja is the $ symbol. Any comments and/or suggestions are appreciated. Feel free to share in the comments what you created with the font! If I have time in the future I may make a “sequel” to this, which would be a smoother looking variant, and possibly more glyphs like the Yolandi and Ninja smiley’s.

Font styled after Yolandi Visser and Ninja’s handwriting:

Also available from fontspace.com: http://www.fontspace.com/kevingullingcom/love-drug

If you have any questions about what, where, when, why you can use this font, feel free to contact me.
Stay Zef out there!

I recently did an install of an SMF (or Simple Machines Forum) for another site. I wanted to keep the basic stock theme, but change some the color scheme to match the website. After performing a search on Google and Bing, I couldn’t find any options other than downloading a new Theme. It wasn’t hard to find the file I was looking for with a little digging around in the Administration Center. From The Administration Center you will want to look for the ‘Themes and Layout’ link. Click this. Now look for the ‘Modify Themes‘ option. From here there is a link to ‘Browse the templates and files in this theme‘. At this point you will see a file system similar to using an ftp. Open the CSS folder and find the index.css file.
Main > Administration Center > Modify Themes > Browse the templates and files in this theme > css > index.css

Changing SMF colors css

SMF index.css (no style.css)

This is specific to the current default SMF ‘Curves’ theme and probably doesn’t pertain to many other themes. There is also an ‘Images’ folder, from which you can download and alter the images via image editing software to further customize your color scheme. You will most likely want to edit an image called main_block.png or something similar.

I’m not going to go much into editing of the CSS, but if you have basic knowledge of HTML/CSS you can easily find the colors and change them. I like to use pink, #ff00ff (or #fab haha) to easily spot the changes. For extensive editing, I suggest copying the code from the box and pasting it into an editor such as Notepad++ to make your life easier.

Hope this helps some other SMF newbs! With that being said, I’m a newb, and didn’t read any SMF documentation (who needs directions?) and I’m not sure how editing these files will effect updates or other mods. Not my fault if you lose your forum for trying to make pretty pink borders 😛

“The Beast” Custom Precision X Skin.

  • If you do not have the newest version (I’m using 5.3.1 at the time of writing this article) of Precision X 16 I recommend downloading it here.
  • You will need the EVGA UXF Tool. It comes with the newest version of PrecisionX. If you followed step 1, then you should have it installed already.
  • ScreenShot - EVGA UXF Tool

    ScreenShot – EVGA UXF Tool

  • Open the EVGA UXF Tool. Click ‘Import’. Default skins are located at C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA\PrecisionX 16\Skins. Find defaultX.uxf and open it. In the link above the EVGA Product Manager states that the password to open the file is “jsRfsgTd5” but for me this did not work. It seems that leaving the password field blank, and just clicking ‘ok’ works. Now click ‘Export’ and save this as whatever you want your skin to be named. I’m calling mine beastX.uxf.
  • This is what the UXF Tool looks like before importing a UFX file.

This is what the UXF Tool looks like before importing a UFX file.

  • After you import the UXF, a folder with the same name as your UXF will be created containing all of the default images. Mine looks like: C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA\PrecisionX 16\Skins\beastX.
  • Using an image editor such as Photoshop, you can edit these graphics, and overwrite the originals. If you have trouble with this step, try saving the bmp to your desktop, then copy/replace it from your desktop into your skin folder.
  • In the UXF Tool, select the graphic from the left menu, and in the “File Name” attribute, click browse and open the correlating graphic you created from your folder C:\Program Files (x86)\EVGA\PrecisionX 16\Skins\beastX and click “Apply”.
  • In the menu on the left, select “info” and rename your skin. This can be whatever you like. This is the name that will show up in the dropdown menu within Precision X.
  • Now export the uxf file again.
  • Open Precision X, click the right arrow until you come across the “settings” panel, and select “profile” from the list. Click the right arrow again until you reach “Interface 1/2” and in the “Select Skin” dropdown, find your skin and select it, then hit ‘OK’. Precision X should reload with your skin!
  • Make a sweet skin that you would like to share with the rest of us? Leave a link in the comments!

Note: Make sure you back up your skin folder! If you import your uxf file into the ufx Tool again, it may revert your folder to default images. I’m not sure if this is a bug or a “feature”, but it is a pain in the neck and I hope they change that. Keep in mind this is the first version, so there is likely to be more bugs that I haven’t yet noticed.
